Palak Paneer | Spinach Cottage Cheese Gravy
Palak paneer is protein packed dish made using fresh spinach and Indian cottage cheese. It’s one of the classic dish from North India.

Ingredients
- 250 grams Palak/Spinach
- 200 grams Paneer (cut into cubes)
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 big Tomato
- 12-15 Garlic clove
- 1 inch Ginger
- 3 Green chillies
- ½ tsp Cumin/Jeera
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Jeera/Cumin powder
- ½ tsp Garam masala powder
- 1 tbsp. Cream
- 2 tsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as required

Instructions
- Rinse palak/spinach leaves well.
- Blanch the Palak leaves by putting them in boiling water with little salt for 2 minutes. Take them out and put them in cold water so that the leaves retain their green colour. Add this to blending jar.
- Heat a tbsp. oil in pan sauté cumin, garlic, ginger, green chillies & onion till onions turns translucent.
- Add Tomato to the pan & sauté till it softens. Switch off the flame & wait till this mixture comes down to room temperature.
- Now grind blanched Palak & Onion tomato mixture to smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a Pan, add all spice power (turmeric, red chilli, coriander & cumin) except garam masala. Fry for few seconds.
- Add grind Palak & Onion Tomato paste to pan, mix well. Sauté everything for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, cream & garam masala to pan.
- In goes the paneer cubes & gently stir. Cook it covered for 2 more minutes.
- Serve hot with chapathi’s or roti's.
