Beetroot Halwa
Ingredients
1 big
Beetroot
or grated beets : 2 cups
1 cup
Milk
½ cup
Sugar
(adjust as per your taste)
2 tbsp.
Ghee
1 tbsp.
Chopped Cashew
¼ tsp
Cardamom powder
Instructions
Peel, wash and grate the beetroot.
Heat 1 tbsp. of ghee in a deep frying pan.
Add grated beetroot and sauté in medium heat until beetroot is soft.
Once beetroot is soft, add a cup of milk & let it cook on medium heat by stirring it occasionally.
Once the milk is reduced (approx. after 10 min), add sugar & continue cooking in medium heat.
When the halwa is almost dry, add chopped cashew & a tbsp. of ghee, mix well.
Once water content in mixture is dried, halwa is almost ready.
At the end add cardamom powder, give a final mix.
Serve it hot or cold.
